Carling Adrenal Center: Who We Are
The Carling Adrenal Center is part of the world's largest endocrine surgery practice. We perform adrenal surgery only, but are part of a large group of surgeons who specialize in surgery of the parathyroid and thyroid glands as well. We operate exclusively at the brand-new Hospital for Endocrine Surgery in Tampa, a full-service hospital dedicated to the surgical treatment of tumors and cancers of the adrenal, thyroid, parathyroid and thyroid glands. As a group, we have performed over 2500 adrenal operations, over 40,000 thyroid operations, and over 60,000 parathyroid operations--more than 20 times the experience of any other US hospital or university. Our surgeons are recognized as the highest level of experts worldwide.
Four Centers of Excellence Unite to Become World’s Highest Volume Endocrine Surgery Practice
The world class surgeons of the Carling Adrenal Center, Norman Parathyroid Center, Clayman Thyroid Center, and Scarless Thyroid Surgery Center united under one roof in 2022 at the state-of-the-art Hospital for Endocrine Surgery (more on that below). Within just 12 weeks of its opening, the surgeons performed their 1,000th endocrine surgery in the facility.
Operating Exclusively at the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery
The Hospital for Endocrine Surgery is a first-of-its-kind facility which opened in Tampa, Florida on January 3, 2022. The only hospital in the world dedicated to thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal cancers and tumors, this brand-new facility is a 75,000 sq. ft. campus of HCA South Tampa Hospital.
The Hospital for Endocrine Surgery will offer endocrinologists and other physicians a single center where they can refer their patients with endocrine tumors of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands for surgery, regardless of the complexity.
The Hospital for Endocrine Surgery offers a multi-disciplinary surgical staff with expertise in treating patients with endocrine tumors of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands, regardless of the complexity. With close proximity to Tampa International Airport, the program attracts patients from across the state, nation and even internationally for inpatient and outpatient procedures. In fact, the hospital sees about 50% of patients from outside the state of Florida and 10% of patients from outside the US.
